Five things on my mind this Friday!

Concealer. For a long while I've been using Hard Candy Glamoflauge ($6) but it's pretty thick with heavy coverage. Last weekend I was able to try my girlfriend's Maybelline Dream Lumi highlighting concealer, and I was sold. Lighter but great coverage. I just purchased it and have used it for the past few days. Only thing I'm unsure of is how long it will last. It's one of those twist-up pens and I've always found them to run out quicker than other dispensers. Will report back!

I made strawberry muffins on Tuesday for a friend, decided they didn't turn out right, and so we got her flowers instead. Then I ate six of them on Tuesday afternoon. I ate three on Wednesday. Yesterday I held myself to two. The last one will be consumed today. (Perfect lead-in to #3 below)

It's been hot as sin this week, but for the past two nights I've gotten outside for a quick run or walk, and I'm tracking my progress on Map My Run. I'm going to try to post my progress from time to time. I love that Map My Run emails me a weekly summary of my workouts and progress.

Like many of you from your comments yesterday, I too am OBSESSED with Jersey Belle. Frankly, from the previews I didn't think it would be a show I loved, but one episode and I was hooked. The women seem a lot more real and down-to-earth from what we see with the Housewives. Bravo to Bravo for this show about real friends ... not cast members who are made to hang out with each other.
It comes on Monday nights, so Tuesdays are my new favorite day because I know this is on my DVR.

On Sunday I purchased this Loft dress, and I'm in love. It was $49.50, then marked down to $29.88 with an additional 40% off now, no code needed. For reference, I'd size down ... I got a XS Petite and I'm either an XS or a Petite Small in Loft, almost never an XS Petite. I'm pretty short at 5'2 so the length and proportions on the Petite was best, and the XS still had plenty of room since it is a looser-fit dress just with an elastic waistband.

ReplyDeleteAs a (rather outspoken) Northerner who has moved to the South, I feel like me and miss Jersey Belle would seriously be BFF's, because her and I have some of the same reactions to Southern things! Right there with you - looooooove that show, and totally didn't think that I would!

ReplyDeleteJersey Belle is filmed in my hometown (well, I live a short 5 minutes from the town of Mountain Brook at least). There are times where I can tell the show is totally staged, but I do think it's has a more of a "real" quality than Housewives. Regardless, I too am hooked on it!

ReplyDeleteI adore Jersey Belle! Especially after being a 'fish out of water' in Baltimore! I think if all of my co-workers and friends in Maryland would watch this show, they would have understood me SO much more!!

ReplyDeleteI loved the Dream Lumi concealer too but did find that it ran out rather quickly. I switched over to the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer, which also twists, but is more than double the amount of makeup as the Dream Lumi, covers the same (yay!) and costs the same. Might want to look into it:) It's my daily go to.

ReplyDeleteLove the dress!! I need you to model it though. I'm 5'2" as well. And as soon as I can get myself in gear I want to try map my run. Right now I have a baby that requires constant holding. And I would have eaten the muffins too - although I have to be soy and dairy free at this point for nursing. I think once this allergy is over I am going to gain all my preggo weight back bc I miss baked goods soooooo much!!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a great Friday evening! Since we moved from the South to NY (13 miles from the Jersey border) I have particularly enjoyed watching Jersey Belle. While no doubt the show is sensationalized for ratings, there have been several situations that have come up which I have been able to relate!
